Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

The key to animal welfare begins with preventing cruelty. Please join us as a loud voice against cruelty to animals. By educating people on the 5 Freedoms for the welfare of animals we can assure their welfare. To know more orbecome a volunteer please download the presentation and fill up the form and email us or bring into our office. Orientations are held regularly so do sign up!

To report a case of cruelty: Please give the complaint by telephone to our animal helpline or email the details of where and when the incident took place. Try to gather any evidence, photographs, letters, to build a case. Your identity will be kept confidential.

The Blue Cross will initiate action as follows:
1. A visit to the location and counseling of the persons involved.
2. If needed, a visit to the local Police Station for their involvement.
3. A telephone call and a second visit after a month to confirm the cruelty has stopped.
4. If it has not stopped then we move authorities to confiscate the animal involved and give warning not to keep any animals in future. Evidence (like photographs, witnesses, Veterinary records etc.) is required for this step.

Wildlife
City Wildlife faces much destruction and disturbance with our city growing terribly animal – un-friendly! Even at the KBR Park, a National Park under Government protection, the laughers' club, joggers and walkers continue to invade the peace and tranquility of wildlife space day after day, in the name of loving wildlife!

To help birds please put out a bowl of water on your roof this summer. Avoid using poisons in your garden at all times. Use organic materials instead.
